The stories create that relationship, one that we may long for, but can never truly have. We often miss places or characters that we have never met. The quote above is one of my favorites because it describes perfectly my connection to stories. “We are homesick most for the places we have never known” Carson McCullers The experience in itself is great for this reason, having the feeling of creating a cake but it’s actually fake and will last forever on display! It’s great to have a piece of your favorite book, movie, or show come to life and be something that you can touch and see everyday. Hence, my favorite part was doing the yellow icing mounds at the top of the cake. It was my first time using a piping tool on a life-size fake cake. For the second try, the pieces will most likely be smaller. I use polymer clay for the candles and candy pieces on the side. I consider it a mixed media work because I have to combine several elements.
